MANIFESTO
Alba, which means dawn, is an intimate journey into ceramics and pottery, a personal therapy, a getaway mantra to silence the constant noise both outside and within.

Alba is slowly crafted from mud, water, and my own self, destined to be thrown into the fire and reborn.
The pottery wheel is my meditation, where both great joy and pain originate.
My pots are primarily handcrafted from stoneware clay and then fired twice, ranging from 1000°C to 1280°c.
This journey has just begun, and my passion is burning bright, each piece is an experiment;
Every firing takes me one step closer to shaping my identity as a potter and building confidence as an artisan.

My brain chase symmetry and technical precision but my heart is deeply drawn by the unpredictable nature of ceramics while my hands find joy feeling the rough textures of a naked body of clay.
​
Since i get inspired by so many different inputs on a daily basis i'm trying not to force myself inside a box anymore,
I just let the passion flow freely and the wind decide where to bring me today.

BIOGRAPHY
I'm Leonardo Albanese, born in 1989 in Vicenza, northern Italy.
​
From a young age i pursued studies in art and music until dropping out of university during my 2nd year, after completing only a handful of exams.
​
In the meanwhile, balancing part-time jobs, music, and studies i graduated at the evening school to become a chef.
At the time it felt necessary to keep a backdoor open and cooking has always been a love of mine.
​
Before long i was a full blown line chef at a Michelin star restaurant, moved to London for 2+ years and offered my life to pans and stove, fighting my battle into the trenches of many kitchens.
​
However, in july 2022, an opportunity emerged that reignited my creative spark, a ceramics beginner class.
A burning passion for ceramics instantly blossomed, finally reviving my true creative self.
​
Despite the demands of my career, I managed to establish a more balanced work-life schedule, allowing me to pursue this newfound passion.
​
I am starting a super small business that may one day enable me to become a full-time ceramicist.
​
